Scentopia: A Must Do Activity in Sentosa, Singapore

My only association with Singapore so far is my 6 hours layover at Changi Airport while flying Singapore Airlines to Australia, on a trip to visit family back in 2015. That, and the money I lost to scammers selling me “tickets” to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Singapore.

I know, that’s not enough association. Guilty as charged.

But I have seen and heard of Singapore enough thanks to Instagram influencers to know that the country’s futuristic gardens, unique food culture and pristine islands like Sentosa Island fascinate me.

So when Scentopia Sentosa reached out to me to check if I’d be interested in trying out their “Perfume Personality Test” and having a customized perfume based on the results sent to India, I jumped at it!

Granted, I am still yet to go out and live my Singaporean dreams. But if a tiny part of Singapore was coming right to my doorstep, who am I to say no, right!?

Singapore’s Floral Heritage

Singapore is home to a unique floral heritage. The island nation’s tropical climate nurtures a diverse array of flora, earning it the nickname “The Garden City” which is evident from its many incredible gardens like Gardens By The Bay and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Singapore Botanic Gardens, showcasing a stunning collection of indigenous and exotic plants, including the national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid.

However, Singapore’s floral connection extends beyond gardens. Initiatives like the Garden City Movement and cultural celebrations like the Chinese New Year and Malay weddings mean flowers are always in style. From cherry blossoms and peonies to the fragrant garlands of jasmine and roses, flowers play a central role in the island country’s festivals and rituals.

What is Scentopia?

In simple words, Scentopia Sentosa is a perfume workshop born to honour the rich floral heritage of Singapore. Located at Siloso Beach on Sentosa Island, Scentopia is an immersive olfactory experience, blending art, science, and imagination to discover the power of smell.

Scentopia’s Perfume Personality Test

Scentopia’s Perfume Personality Test was how I got introduced to the world of Scentopia.

Guided by expert perfumers, this immersive experience taps into the relationship between scent and personality. Scentopia’s perfume personality test is the gateway to crafting a fragrance that truly reflects you.

The quiz is quick and engaging, typically consisting of around 10 questions, and delves into your lifestyle, preferences, and emotional connection to scents.
